Buzet is a medieval town and it is located on a hill above the Mirna Valley. In the 15th c. during the Venetian rule, tall town walls were erected to protect from the Turks. A beautiful fountain and the parish Church of the Assumption of Mary (Crkva Uznesenja Marijina) are in the town centre.
